operators@sdchinamachine.comOn August 10, 2022, six HT10B mini excavators rolled out of the Hightop Group Industrial Park and onto a container ship bound for Italy. It wasn't our first shipment to Europe, and it won't be the last – but it's worth noting because it shows how demand for compact, versatile excavators continues to grow across the EU.
Italy has a strong market for compact construction equipment. Tight city streets, historic building restrictions, and a booming landscaping sector all drive demand for machines that are small enough to maneuver but powerful enough to get real work done. The HT10B fits that brief – 1 ton, narrow enough for garden gates, and deep enough for residential utility trenches.
This shipment wasn't random. The HT10B is one of our most popular models for European buyers, and for good reason.
The machine runs on a Changchai 192F engine – reliable, fuel-efficient, and available with configurations that meet European emission standards. For buyers who need stricter compliance, we offer Koop, Briggs & Stratton, or Yanmar engine options. That flexibility matters when you're shipping into a regulated market like the EU.
The hydraulic system uses Japanese main pumps, Italian main valves, and Italian swing and travel motors. The components match the market – using Italian valves in a machine going to Italy isn't just about quality; it's about serviceability. Local mechanics know these parts, which means easier maintenance for the end user.
CE certification was already in place – Hightop's excavator series holds EU CE certification, ISO 9001, and TVU certification. That paperwork is non-negotiable for European imports, and we made sure it was ready before the machines left the factory.
Beyond the engine and hydraulics, the HT10B has a few features that make it especially useful for European job sites.
The tracks retract from 1000mm down to 830mm – narrow enough to fit through standard garden gates and doorways. That's a big deal for residential work in Italian cities, where access is often tight. The boom swings 60 degrees left and right, so operators can dig next to walls without constantly repositioning the machine.
The whole machine goes through a full surface treatment – sandblasting, acid washing, phosphating, and painting. It's not just a coat of paint over raw metal. This process keeps rust off the machine in humid or coastal environments, which matters for a country like Italy with long coastlines and varied climates.
The HT10B also accepts a range of attachments – augers, grippers, rakes, scarifiers, and narrow buckets. One machine, multiple jobs. That's how contractors in Europe work, and that's why this model keeps selling.
For any machine entering the EU, CE certification is mandatory. It confirms that the equipment meets European health, safety, and environmental protection standards. Without it, the machine can't be legally operated in the EU.
Hightop's excavator series holds CE certification, along with ISO quality system certification and TVU certification. That's not just a box-ticking exercise – it's a commitment to building machines that meet the standards of the markets we serve.
If you're a buyer in Europe considering a compact excavator, the paperwork is already done. You're not waiting on certifications or dealing with customs delays. The machine arrives ready to work.

Six units were shipped in August 2022 as part of this shipment. It's one of several European orders we've fulfilled this year.
The standard engine is a Changchai 192F diesel. For markets with stricter emission requirements, we offer Koop, Briggs & Stratton, and Yanmar options. All can be configured to meet European and US emission standards.
Yes. The HT10B holds EU CE certification, along with ISO 9001 and TVU certification. It's ready for import and operation in EU countries.
The HT10B accepts augers, grippers, rakes, scarifiers, narrow buckets, and other standard mini excavator attachments. The quick-hitch system makes swapping fast.
The tracks retract to 830mm and expand to 1000mm. At 830mm, it fits through most standard garden gates and doorways – a key feature for residential and urban job sites.
Its compact size fits tight urban spaces. The hydraulic system uses Italian-made valves, which means local mechanics are familiar with the components. CE certification is already in place. And the machine accepts a wide range of attachments for different job types.
